
Dr. Hussein Zanaty
PhD, Innovative Education and Creative Thinking Expert in Japan, Egyptian
Dr. Hussein Zanaty, PhD, is an acclaimed education innovation expert and a leading figure in
fostering international cooperation between Japan and the Middle East. With a PhD in
Information Technology Engineering from Kitami University, Japan, and a Master's in Education
from Heidelberg University, USA, Dr. Zanaty possesses a unique blend of technical expertise
and pedagogical insight. His work is centered on preparing future leaders by integrating skills
such as critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving into educational frameworks.
Dr. Zanaty has been widely recognized for his exemplary contributions, having been awarded by
the President of Egypt and the Prince of Riyadh of Saudi Arabia. He has also fostered close
cooperation with the Deans of universities in both Japan and Egypt. As the Director of the Egypt
Japan Center for Training and Sustainable Development, and in his roles as International
Cooperation Ambassador of Kyotango City, Japan, and as the Executive Director of the Arab-
Japanese Center for Training and Sustainable Development of the League of Arab States, Dr.
Zanaty's extensive experience bridges cultural and diplomatic gaps to promote mutual
understanding and innovative leadership. He has been honored with prestigious accolades,
including the "Best Educational Development Award" at the UNESCO World Conference on
Education for Sustainable Development. He is also a frequent speaker at the international
conferences of the League of Arab States.
A true visionary, Dr. Zanaty's initiatives are deeply rooted in practical, real-world application. He
collaborates directly with Harumi Mori of KOOV and Sony Global Education (SGED) to
develop hands-on learning solutions based on the "All Share Humanity and Peace Educational
Project" (ASHAP). His expertise in design thinking is demonstrated through his involvement in
projects like the Kyotango Sea-Labo, which uses community-based problem-solving to drive
innovation in cooperation with the Kyotango Board of Education for Global Awareness and
SDGs programs. Additionally, he works alongside Professor Miyata Yoshiro, the head of the
World Environment Project at Chukyo University's Toyota Campus, to develop sustainable
technological solutions. His commitment to professional development is also evident in his
support of the Hirose Industry En-labo project, which facilitates technical professional exchanges
for engineers in Japan. He is also active in developing young generations and youth in design
thinking and global understanding in cooperation with Kyotango City and the Kyotango Board
of Education. Furthermore, Dr. Zanaty collaborated with the JICA Foundation during the first
year of the Egypt-Japan schools partnership program, contributing significantly to the
enhancement of educational initiatives.
His diverse experience, from serving as a former supervisor several academic institutions in
Japan, the Middle East, and Africa to his leadership in founding the TANQ Arab Academy in
Japan, underscores his dedication to empowering the next generation of thinkers and innovators.
In addition to his educational roles, Dr. Zanaty serves as an academic researcher at the Institute
for Global Security & Defense Affairs (IGSDA), working in cooperation with Dr. Sayed
Ghoneim, MG(Ret.), Chairman of IGSDA.
